Bailey | boudoir & paraplegia | nashville, tn

A few months ago, Bailey reached out and asked if I offered ADA accessible boudoir sessions, noting that she is a paraplegic wheelchair user.

“It has taken me a long time to feel comfortable and beautiful in my new body. It’s still a work in progress, but I think I’ve come a long way. This is a perfect way to express that,” she told me. The session would mark the occasion of the 5 year anniversary of her injury, as well as her upcoming birthday.

Every session means a lot to me, but this one was in a league of its own as one of my own loved ones was also* marking the 5 year anniversary of a spinal cord injury that rendered them paralyzed, as well (a profound twist of synchronicity that I’m still at a loss for). At the time of their injury, they were told they would never walk again.

However, they overcame the odds and defied every expectation. They were actually able to be present for Bailey’s session to assist me in getting her around, and I’m humbled to have had an opportunity to witness the strength and resilience of both them and Bailey that day. The human spirit is beyond incredible.

I’m seaux honored to have played a part in this gorgeous woman celebrating herself and her vessel in its current form. Her sense of humor, her willingness to push herself, her authenticity — she’s the best kind of muse. Feeling beyond grateful for what I do, and the kinds of people it puts in front of my lens 🤍✨
